CrumbBaker ("we," "us") is an online marketplace operated from Chicago, Illinois that connects independent home bakers and bakeries with buyers.

2. Information we collect

We collect:

• Account info: name, email, phone, neighborhood
• Order info: items, delivery address, notes to bakers
• Payment info: processed by Stripe — we don't store card numbers
• Communications: messages between buyers and bakers

3. How we use it

• Process and fulfill orders
• Send order confirmations and updates
• Improve the platform
• Send marketing emails (you can unsubscribe)
• Prevent fraud and comply with law

4. Information sharing

We share with bakers (your name, contact, delivery details), service providers (Stripe, Netlify), and legal authorities when required. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Your rights

Access, correct, or delete your information by emailing hello@crumbbaker.com. California, EU, and UK residents have additional rights.

6. Data security

SSL encryption and secure payment via Stripe. No system is perfectly secure.

1. Agreement

By using CrumbBaker, you agree to these Terms.

2. What we do

CrumbBaker is a marketplace platform only. We connect independent home bakers ("Bakers") with buyers ("Users"). We are not the producer, seller, or distributor of any food.

3. Food safety, allergens, and health disclaimers

This is critical — read carefully.

• All food is prepared by independent third-party Bakers in their own kitchens. CrumbBaker does not prepare, handle, or store any food.
• CrumbBaker does not inspect, test, or certify any Baker's food safety practices, kitchens, or ingredients.
• Many Bakers operate under Illinois Cottage Food Law or similar — permitting limited sales without commercial inspection.
• You assume all risk associated with consuming food purchased through CrumbBaker, including allergic reactions, food-borne illness, cross-contamination, and unlisted ingredients.
• Always communicate allergies directly to your Baker before ordering. Bakers may use wheat, eggs, dairy, nuts, soy, sesame, and other common allergens.
• If you have a serious allergy, we strongly recommend you do not use this platform — home kitchens cannot guarantee allergen-free environments.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CrumbBaker is not liable for any food-borne illness, allergic reaction, injury, or damage arising from food purchased through the platform.

4. Limitation of liability

• Platform provided "as is" without warranties
• We're not liable for quality, safety, or legality of Baker food/services
• We're not liable for disputes between Users and Bakers
• Total liability limited to greater of $100 or 12 months of fees paid
• No liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

5. Baker obligations

Bakers represent that they comply with all food safety laws (including Illinois Cottage Food Law where applicable), hold required permits, accurately list allergens, follow safe handling practices, and are responsible for the safety of their food. Bakers — not CrumbBaker — are the sellers of record.

6. Buyer obligations

Provide accurate information, pay amounts owed, communicate allergies before ordering, inspect food on receipt, and report issues promptly.

7. Payments

Processed via Stripe. CrumbBaker collects 10% service fee. Refunds at Baker's discretion.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold CrumbBaker harmless from claims arising from your use of the platform.

9. Arbitration

Disputes resolved through binding arbitration in Cook County, Illinois. You waive class action rights and jury trial.

10. Governing law

Illinois law governs these Terms.
